Definition

What is lead generation?

Lead generation is the process of attracting and identifying potential customers who have shown interest in a product or service, capturing their contact details, and qualifying them so the sales team can follow up.

Lots of leads is easy. Leads that turn into customers are hard. The difference lies in who you target, what you offer them, how quickly you respond and how well marketing and sales share information. We build the whole chain, from the first ad or email to the moment a qualified lead lands in your CRM, and keep tuning it against what actually closes.

Who is it for?

  • B2B SaaS

Demo and trial pipelines for software with a defined buyer.

  • Agencies and consultancies

A steady flow of qualified enquiries instead of relying on referrals alone.

  • Manufacturers and distributors

Reaching procurement and operations buyers in new markets.

  • Professional services

Accounting, legal and advisory firms building a predictable client pipeline.

How a lead generation system fits together

  1. Reach

Ads, search and social put you in front of the right people

  2. Landing page

One page, one offer, one action

  3. Follow-up

Email, SMS or a call while interest is high

  4. Measure

Conversions tracked back to the source

Traffic from ads, outreach and content reaches a focused offer; leads are captured, scored and either passed to sales or nurtured until they're ready.

Which channels fit which situation?

ChannelWorks best when
Google Search adsBuyers already search for what you sell
LinkedIn adsYou can define buyers by role, seniority and company
Outbound emailYou have a clear list of target companies and a relevant offer
SEO and contentYou can invest for compounding results over time
Webinars and eventsYour sale benefits from education and trust
Partnerships and referralsOthers already serve your buyers

Is cold outreach legal in Europe?

Rules for unsolicited B2B email vary by country. Some EU countries allow B2B emails to corporate addresses based on legitimate interest, with a clear opt-out; others, including Germany, are much stricter and generally require prior consent. Personal data used for outreach must also be handled in line with GDPR.

We design outbound around the rules of each target market, use narrow and relevant targeting, identify the sender clearly, include an easy opt-out and keep records of where data came from. Where cold email isn't appropriate, we rely on LinkedIn, ads and content instead. This isn't legal advice; confirm specifics with your adviser.

Why speed-to-lead matters

Interest fades quickly. A lead who fills in a form and hears nothing for days has often moved on or spoken to a competitor. We set up instant alerts to the right salesperson, automatic confirmation emails with useful next steps and booking links, and reminders if a lead hasn't been contacted.

Clear qualification rules help sales focus: high-fit, high-intent leads get a call quickly; earlier-stage leads receive helpful nurture emails until they're ready to talk.

How lead generation works, step by step

Every step has a clear output you can review. Timing is agreed in your quote.

  1. 1

    Define the buyer

Ideal customer profile, buying committee and qualification criteria agreed with sales.

  2. 2

    Build the offer

A reason to respond: an audit, guide, demo, calculator or consultation.

  3. 3

    Set up capture

Landing pages, forms, CRM integration and alerts.

  4. 4

    Launch channels

Ads, outbound and content campaigns started and tracked.

  5. 5

    Qualify and nurture

Scoring routes hot leads to sales; others get nurture sequences.

  6. 6

    Optimise on pipeline

Budget and effort moved towards what produces opportunities.

Tools, and what shapes your quote

Pricing is based on your project and agreed in your quote. These are the things that move it.

Lead Generation pricing factors
FactorWhy it matters
Number of channelsEach channel adds set-up, content and management.
Offer creationProducing guides, tools or webinars adds content work.
CRM workSetting up or cleaning a CRM adds integration effort.
MarketsEach country needs its own targeting, language and compliance review.
Ad spendPaid channels need a separate media budget.

Common mistakes to avoid

What we see go wrong most often, and how a good project avoids it.

  • Chasing lead volume

Cheap, unqualified leads waste sales time. Measure qualified pipeline.

  • No agreed definition of a qualified lead

Marketing and sales must agree what counts, or both will be frustrated.

  • Slow follow-up

Leads cool quickly. Automate alerts and first responses.

  • Generic mass outreach

Untargeted cold email harms deliverability and reputation, and may break the law in some countries.

  • Asking cold audiences for a sales call

Offer something useful first; ask for a call when interest is proven.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee a number of leads?

No. Lead volume depends on your market, offer and budget. We set realistic targets after an initial test and report transparently on results.

Do you do cold email outreach?

Yes, where it's appropriate and lawful for the target market, with narrow targeting, clear sender identity and easy opt-out. Outbound email and LinkedIn campaigns, including reply handling and appointment setting, are run by our B2B sales outreach team. In stricter markets we use other channels instead.

Do you buy lead lists?

We don't buy generic lists. We build targeted account and contact lists from compliant data sources, matched to your ideal customer profile.

Which CRM should we use?

HubSpot and Pipedrive suit most small and mid-sized teams; Salesforce suits larger organisations. If you already have a CRM, we work with it.

What's lead scoring?

A set of rules that ranks leads by fit (company, role) and intent (pages visited, actions taken), so sales calls the most promising first.

Can you book meetings for our sales team?

Yes. For inbound leads we set up booking links and automation so qualified leads can schedule directly. For outbound campaigns, our B2B sales outreach team answers replies by email and LinkedIn and books meetings into your calendar. We don't offer cold calling or phone appointment setting.

How long before leads arrive?

Paid campaigns can produce leads soon after launch; outbound and content take longer to build. We judge results on pipeline over several months.

Do you write the outreach and ads?

Yes. We write ads, emails, landing pages and lead magnets, and test variations.

Can you work in German and Albanian markets?

Yes, with campaigns and content in German, Albanian and English, and compliance reviewed per market.

How do you report?

Leads by source, qualification rate, opportunities created, pipeline value and cost per qualified lead, from your CRM data.

Is ad spend included?

No. Ad spend and data tool subscriptions are paid separately; our fee covers strategy, set-up and management.

What makes a good lead magnet?

Something your ideal buyer genuinely wants and can use quickly: a checklist, benchmark, template, calculator or short audit of their situation. It should relate directly to the problem your service solves, so the people it attracts are potential customers.

Can you clean up our existing CRM?

Yes. We merge duplicates, standardise fields and lifecycle stages, and set up the properties needed for scoring and reporting before adding new leads.

Do you nurture leads who aren't ready to buy?

Yes. Email sequences with useful content keep you in touch, and scoring flags when a lead's activity suggests they're ready for a conversation.
