Dashboards that show what's happening in your business
Gjethe builds dashboards that combine data from your CRM, store, ads, accounting and operational tools into one live view: clear KPIs, filters and drill-downs, role-based access and scheduled reports. We build them in Looker Studio or Power BI when those fit, or as custom web dashboards when you need more control or want to share them with customers.

Definition
What is dashboard development?
A business dashboard is a visual display of key metrics drawn from one or more data sources, designed so people can see performance at a glance and investigate the details behind it.
Most dashboards fail because they show everything. A good one answers the questions a specific person asks every week (a sales manager, an operations lead, a founder) and makes the next action obvious. We start from those questions, get the data right and only then design the charts.
Who is it for?
Founders and managers
You want a single place to see sales, pipeline, cash and operations without asking for reports.
Marketing teams
Spend and results from every ad platform, analytics and CRM combined into one view of cost per lead and revenue.
Operations teams
Orders, stock, delivery times and capacity tracked live so problems are spotted early.
SaaS and service companies
Customer-facing dashboards inside your product showing usage and results.
What's included, and what you keep

Looker Studio, Power BI or a custom dashboard?
| Option | Best for | Consider |
|---|---|---|
| Looker Studio | Marketing and Google-ecosystem data; free to start | Slows down with large or complex data |
| Power BI | Microsoft-based companies and complex modelling | Licences for viewers in most set-ups |
| Custom web dashboard | Customer-facing dashboards and full design control | Development cost; changes need a developer |
Why metric definitions matter
Ask three people what “revenue” or “active customer” means and you'll often get three answers: before or after refunds, by invoice date or payment date, active in the last 30 or 90 days. Dashboards built without agreed definitions produce arguments instead of decisions.
Before designing anything, we write down each metric (its formula, source, filters and owner) and agree it with you. That document becomes part of the deliverable, so new team members read the same numbers the same way.
What makes a dashboard useful
- Built for one audience and their recurring decisions
- The few most important numbers at the top
- Comparison to target or previous period on every key metric
- Drill-down from a total to the records behind it
- Clear data freshness: when it last updated
- Consistent colours: the same metric looks the same everywhere
Dashboards we build often
Sales pipeline
Deals by stage, conversion between stages, forecast versus target and rep performance.
Marketing performance
Spend, leads, cost per lead and revenue across every channel in one view.
E-commerce
Revenue, orders, average order value, top products, returns and stock alerts.
Operations
Orders in progress, delivery times, capacity and exceptions that need attention.
Connecting data without disrupting your systems
Dashboards read data; they shouldn't slow down the systems people work in. For heavier sources we copy data on a schedule into a reporting database or warehouse, where queries run without touching your live CRM or store.
That copy also lets us combine sources that never talk to each other (ad spend with CRM deals, or orders with accounting data) and keep history for trends even when the original tool only shows recent data.
How dashboard development works, step by step
Every step has a clear output you can review. Timing is agreed in your quote.
- 1
Questions first
Who looks at the dashboard, how often and which decisions it should support.
- 2
Define metrics
Formulas, sources and owners agreed for every number.
- 3
Connect and clean data
Sources connected, data transformed and reconciled against known totals.
- 4
Design
Layout and charts designed for the audience, starting on paper or in Figma.
- 5
Build and validate
Dashboard built and numbers checked against your existing reports.
- 6
Roll out
Access, training and scheduled reports set up.
Tools, and what shapes your quote
Pricing is based on your project and agreed in your quote. These are the things that move it.
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Number of data sources | Each source needs connecting, cleaning and reconciling. |
| Data quality | Messy or inconsistent data takes time to fix before it can be trusted. |
| Number of audiences | A dashboard per role multiplies design and permission work. |
| Custom vs BI tool | Custom web dashboards cost more but offer full control and customer access. |
| Refresh frequency | Near-real-time data needs more infrastructure than daily refreshes. |
| Area | Tools |
|---|---|
| BI tools | Looker Studio, Power BI, Metabase |
| Custom | Next.js, React, Recharts, ECharts |
| Data | BigQuery, PostgreSQL, dbt, Python |
| Connectors | GA4, Google Ads, Meta Ads, HubSpot, Shopify, Xero |
Common mistakes to avoid
What we see go wrong most often, and how a good project avoids it.
Showing everything
Thirty charts on one screen hide the three that matter. Design for decisions.
Undefined metrics
Without agreed definitions, people argue about the numbers instead of acting on them.
No validation
Numbers that don't match the accounting system destroy trust on day one. Reconcile first.
Unclear freshness
People act on stale data if the dashboard doesn't say when it last updated.
Frequently asked questions
Which data sources can you connect?
Most business tools with an API or export, analytics, ad platforms, CRMs, stores, accounting software, spreadsheets and databases.
How often does the data update?
Anything from near real time to daily, depending on the sources and your needs. The dashboard shows when it last refreshed.
Can different people see different data?
Yes. Role-based access and row-level security mean, for example, each sales rep sees only their own pipeline.
Can we share dashboards with our clients?
Yes, through a custom dashboard inside your product or a secure shared view, with each client seeing only their own data.
Do we need a data warehouse?
Not always. For a few sources, direct connectors are enough. With many sources or large volumes, a warehouse such as BigQuery makes dashboards faster and more reliable.
Can the dashboard send alerts?
Yes, email or Slack alerts when a metric crosses a threshold, such as stock running low or daily sales dropping.
Can you fix our existing dashboards?
Yes. We review metric definitions, data connections and design, fix inconsistencies and simplify.
Is this the same as analytics set-up?
Related but different. Analytics and reporting focuses on tracking website and marketing data correctly; dashboards combine data from many systems into views for decision-making.
Do you analyse the data too?
Yes, see data analytics for one-off analyses and recommendations.
Who owns the dashboards and data?
You do. Dashboards live in your accounts and data stays in your systems.
Can dashboards work on phones?
Yes. We design mobile views for the few numbers people check on the go, while detailed analysis stays on desktop.
Can we export data from the dashboard?
Yes. Tables can be exported to CSV or Excel, and scheduled reports can include attachments for people who prefer spreadsheets.
What do you need from us to start?
Access to the data sources, the reports you currently use, even rough spreadsheets, and an hour with the people who'll use the dashboard to understand their questions.
