Definition

What is wedding & event video editing?

Wedding and event video editing is turning hours of footage from a ceremony, celebration or event into finished films, usually a short highlight film and longer documentary edits, that capture the story, emotion and key moments.

Events happen once. The footage is all that's left, and the edit decides how the day will be remembered. A great highlight film isn't a montage of pretty shots; it tells a story (anticipation, the vows or keynote, the celebration) with music and sound from the day woven in. We take care of that story while respecting each videographer's style and each couple's or client's wishes.

Who is it for?

  • Wedding videographers

Outsourced editing in your style so you can film more and edit less.

  • Couples

You have footage from a videographer or guests and want a finished film.

  • Event organisers

Recaps of conferences, launches and festivals for promotion and sponsors.

  • Companies

Internal events, award nights and team trips.

For videographers: editing in your style

Your edit style is part of your brand. Before we edit for you, we study several of your finished films: colour, pacing, music choices, use of audio, transitions and titles. We build presets and templates to match, and the first project gets extra review to calibrate.

You send footage with notes about the day (key people, special moments, music preferences) and receive edits you can deliver under your own name. We don't contact your clients unless you ask us to.

Music licensing for wedding and event films

Popular songs aren't automatically licensed for use in films shared online or sold as a service. Using them can lead to videos being muted or removed on YouTube, Instagram and other platforms.

We use music licensed for this purpose from libraries such as Musicbed, Artlist or Soundstripe, or music you've licensed. Where the couple's first dance song is used in a full-length dance edit for private viewing, we explain the limits of sharing it publicly.

Event recap essentials

For conferences, launches and corporate events.

  • The atmosphere and scale in the first seconds
  • Key speakers with name titles
  • Short sound bites from attendees
  • Sponsor visibility where agreed
  • A vertical version for social
  • Dates and next event information at the end

Building the highlight film around real sound

The most moving wedding films use the day's own words. A line from the vows, a laugh during a speech or a parent's toast can carry the story better than any music. We listen to all the audio first and choose the moments that set the tone, then build the visuals and music around them.

For corporate events, the same principle applies: a keynote quote or an attendee's reaction tells viewers why the event mattered, and gives sponsors and future attendees a reason to care.

Common mistakes to avoid

What we see go wrong most often, and how a good project avoids it.

  • No backup audio

Vows and speeches without a dedicated recorder are often hard to hear.

  • Unlicensed music

Films with popular songs may be muted or removed when shared online.

  • Missing the key moments

Share a timeline of the day so nothing important is missed in the edit.

  • Overlong highlight films

Highlights work best when they're concise and rewatchable.

Frequently asked questions

Do you edit for wedding videographers?

Yes. We edit in your style, under your brand, and work through your file transfers and delivery platform.

We have guest footage, can you make a film?

Yes. We can work with phone footage from guests, though quality varies. We'll tell you honestly what's possible after reviewing it.

Can you use our first dance song?

For private viewing, often yes. For films shared online, popular songs can be muted or removed by platforms, so we recommend licensed alternatives for the highlight film.

How do revisions work for a wedding film?

Two rounds of revisions are included, with comments left at exact moments on a private link.

Do you edit in other languages?

Yes. We can edit ceremonies and speeches in Albanian, English, German and other languages, and add subtitles.

Can you edit conference videos?

Yes, recaps, session recordings and speaker clips for social and future promotion.

How do you receive large files?

Through Dropbox, Google Drive, Frame.io or WeTransfer, or a physical drive by arrangement.

Do you include drone footage?

Yes, if it was filmed. We colour-match it to the rest of the footage.

Can you deliver a teaser for social media?

Yes, a short vertical teaser is often part of the package.

Is footage kept private?

Yes. We keep files private, delete them after an agreed period and sign an NDA if needed.

Can you add names and dates as titles?

Yes. We design titles that match the film's style, with names, venue and date as you prefer.

Can you rescue footage with poor audio?

We can reduce noise and wind and balance levels. If a speech wasn't recorded well, we may use it with subtitles or cover it with music and other moments.

Can you edit a same-day or next-day teaser?

Fast teasers depend on footage arriving promptly and on our schedule at the time. Tell us in advance and we'll confirm what's possible for your date.

Do you keep a copy of our footage?

We keep files only as long as agreed for revisions, then delete them. Please keep your own backup of all original footage.
